Is Anxiety at Work Crippling You?

I was talking to a fellow VBO (Virtual Business Owner) the other day.

She shared that she has anxiety when she is around other people. Being a Virtual Business Owner is very relaxing for her.

As I thought more about her comments I realized we are all probably a little that way. There is something comforting about looking at your calendar and knowing you can work all day in your sweatpants and a baseball cap in the comfort of your own home and that’s OK.

Being a VBO (Virtual Business Owner) actually has so many advantages it is hard to list them.

Getting rid of the commute, being your own boss, not having to beg for a raise, and taking time off are all key. As I looked a little into anxiety in the workplace, I realized it is not an isolated incident at all. In fact, it is very common and can be debilitating for the individual.

1 out of 4 people in the workforce named their job as the source for their anxiety.

24% said they felt more stressed in the workplace this year than they did last year. Anxiety often leads to depression. Depression cuts productivity.

Nearly half of employees with anxiety shared it interferes with their relationships with co-workers and caused them to avoid social situations and often stay quiet in meetings.

I’m a HUGE fan of the VBO Lifestyle.

The fact that VBOs have been found to be healthier, happier and make more money is just a start.

We don’t call it a VBO Career because it transcends work. It is a lifestyle choice and a healthy one at that! If you find yourself having anxiety at work, think about how becoming a virtual business owner might affect your life.

Most of all, understand there are alternatives and you are certainly not alone.
